The process of migration starts with the development of a relational model of current HP e3000 data structures. For well designed Image databases this process should be straightforward. After determining unique keys and data relationships the migration process can move forward with a specific plan and end data structure in sight.

At this point no data conversion is necessary, nor is there a need to select a database or target platform yet. The possibilies for a target database are almost limitless.
