At this point the work on a new GUI (Web based or otherwise) can begin.
This new GUI will be able to work with the transactionalized data from the HP e3000 in real time with no conversions.
During this phase users can still use the original HP e3000 screens to work with the data or use the new GUI.
Both will be working directly with the HP e3000 as the datasource.
This phase will also include the creation of an alternate datasource on the chosen platform and database.
At this point the new datasource will not be actively used; however, a small initial data load can be translated to it for benchmarking and testing.
Also, it is important to note that the normal operations of the HP e3000 are completely in tact allowing for a normal work load with no downtime.
In addition, you have a chance to see where your new environment is headed allowing for any necessary adjustments.
