Web Technologies That Perform!
At Orion Group we don't use technology for technology's sake. We utilize the technology that fits the solution and best fullfils the needs of our customers. We are experienced with multiple web-based programming languages, databases and platforms. Our mission is to apply these technologies such that every site we develop attains the highest levels of Performance, Reliability, Security and Scalability.
Programming Languages:
Our experience and expertise in programming languages allows us to offer both Microsoft-based languages such as Active Server Pages (ASP) as well as UNIX-based programming in JAVA. If you have an in-house hosted application that is already built in a specific language - we can assist with the continued use of that language or research other options if desired. Our hosted languages of choice are Java through the application server environment of WebObjects and the industry standard PHP.
Databases:
Whether they are eCommerce, Intranets, Extranets or any other type of dynamic web application - at their core is the database. We realize the importance of the database in any web application. That's why we are experienced with several quality databases that we can utilize where applicable. We are very experienced with 2 of the biggest industry standard databases in existence today - Microsoft's SQL Server and Oracle. In addition to these we have experience with other relational databases, such as MySQL and PostgreSQL. We are able to apply the correct database to the correct solution and offer cost efficiency as well as a web application that will grow with you.
Platforms:
At Orion Group, we utilize many of the current industry standard web platforms for the purposes of development and testing for our customers web applications. This allows us to be very flexible in terms of being able to utilize the correct platform for the correct solution. For our customers that host their own web-based applications, we can offer development on the platform of their choice. For our own hosted application, UNIX is our platform of choice.
